Styling und das Besondere

Als Gast Dozentin gebe ich an der  Akademie für Mode und Design AMD in Düsseldorf in einem Praxis Modul die Vielfältigkeit meines Jobs an Student:innen weiter. In meinen Anfänger Jahren als junge Stylistin hätte ich mir eine Vorlesungsreihe oder Seminar dieser Art gewünscht.  Eine kompakte Basis aus Theorie Stunden findet im Foto Studio der ​Akademie sofort in die praktisch Anwendung als Fashion Shootings. Der Zauber von gut vorbereiteter  Teamarbeit und creativer Offenheit wirken am Set geradezu ansteckend und so enstehen beim Fashionstyling gelegentlich neue Freundschaften über die gemeinsame Leidenschaft zu Mode & Life Style.

Meine Kompetenz liegt als ausgebildete Modedesignerin klar beim Kostüm - und mit Leidenschaft zum Design gestalte ich das große Ganze eines kompletten Sets in der Art Direction.

In den Neunzigern wechselte ich von der Produktion meiner eigenen Modelinie DI PIU (Damen Lederkollektion) in die Fotoproduktionen der Düsseldorfer Studios zu Fashion Editorials und kommerziellen Katalog-Shootings - unterwegs in Europa, Californien, Florida und Südafrika.

Als Mama verlagerten sich meine Projekte in den späten Neunzigern von den reisenden Modefotografen zu den lokal produzierenden Werbefilmern in Düsseldorf und dem Rheinland.

Die spannende Reise ins digitale Zeitalter habe ich auf analogen Wurzeln erlebt und bin heute mehr auf dem Screen als auf Papier zu Haus. Photoshop statt Pinselstift. Was beim Kostümstyling das Entwickeln einer labelfreier Sportkollektionen oder der kreative Entwurf  eines einzigartigen Couture-Looks bis zur kurzfristigen Fertigung fordert, sind bei der Artdirection das Er+Finden exakt passender Möbel, Requisiten und Accessoires - das perfekte Gestalten leerer Räume über Nacht.

Arbeiten für Styling und Ausstattung reichen von der Präsentation über Moods oder Mini-Muster bis zu einer kameratauglichen Robe, zum großformatigen Wandbild, zu einer Tapete oder einer Sofa-Landschaft - alles für eine Set-Idee speziell entwickelt und hergestellt, wenn im Handel nichts Perfektes zu finden ist.

Textile Kunst und besondere Spezialanfertigungen im werbetauglichen Logo- oder CI-Look ... als fashionbasierte Stylistin realisiere ich die Darstellung von Menschen und Räumen ästhetisch, kamera-fokussiert  und individuell.

me and my special  skills

As a guest lectureer at the AMD Academie of Fashion and design in Düsseldorf, I pass on the deversity of my job to the students in a practical module. In my beginning years as a young stylist, I would have liked a lecture like this. The complexity of this job is provided as a basis in theory lessons, wich can be used immerdiatly in a photo shooting in the academy's studio. The magic of good teamwork and creative openness on set is almost catching and fashion styling occasionally creats new friendships through a shared passion for fashionn and life style.

I'm a qualified costume designer with a passion for design and this has evolved into complete art direction for TV-commerials and advetorials.

IIn the nineties, I switched from the production of my own fashion line (ladies Leather Colllection) and started my work as a stylist for photographers: producing fashion editorials and commercial catalogue shootings in Europe, USA and South Africa.

in the late 90's I juggeld motherhood & Styling and preferred to work locally for commercial filmproductions in Düsseldorf an Rhine-River-Area.

The cange from analogue to digital, pencil to photoshop and graphics has been a good challenge. My speciality of creating outfits such as lablefree sportlooks or handmade couture dresses for TVCs evolved to styling empty rooms and unfurnished studios. My work acomplementing the actor's outfits and the rooms mood to a perfect matching complete look - with a ideal team overnight if needed.

A projectwork from digital moodboards or little prop samples develop to camera-friendly big robes, framed displays, wallpapers or lounge sofas for a special film set idea if there is this need or nothing perfect fitting to rent or buy immediately.

Textile or leather arts, wall decoration or handmade dresses with stylish CI Logo or print . . . as a fashion-based stylist I love to create a kamera focused look - optimazing peoples' appereance and ideal room athmosphere as an art director for advertisment procductions and commercial events.
